My Approach
The Focusing Movement is an approach that invites people to fully inhabit their bodies and express their inner experience through movement. An outward movement can become the echo of an inner one, conveying emotions that felt experience and words alone cannot yet fully express. Through this dialogue between bodily expression and inner sensing, the right words gradually emerge, as if the body itself were helping the inner world come into clearer awareness.
My approach is symbolized by a triangle inscribed within a circle. The triangle's three points represent inner felt experience, expression through the body, and symbolization through words. These dimensions continually interact and influence one another throughout the therapeutic process.
The circle represents the wholeness of the person. It reminds us that every experience engages the body, emotions, sensations, thoughts, and meaning. Attending to the dynamic relationship among these three dimensions fosters a more integrated understanding of oneself and supports deeper self-awareness and more attentive listening to oneself and others.
